The Magellan 1000i reader features a unique approach to imaging technology by using digital scan patterns for omnidirectional reading. This innovative technology offers maximum reliability and high performance while excelling at capturing hard-to-read bar codes. Its compact size makes it the ideal solution when counter space is limited. Its precise imaging scan volume helps to prevent accidental misreads of items caused by stray scan lines reducing overall error correction time caused by these misreads.

Multiple reading modes match the right scanning technique to the item to be read. Offering hands-free operation using either presentation or sweep scanning styles, it can also be picked up and used as a handheld reader to scan larger items. Its small and ergonomic design reduces operator fatigue and injuries plus the textured grip area adds to user comfort. The 1000i also offers an optional targeted mode for reading close proximity codes, like those found on price look-up (PLU) lists. These simple and intuitive features increase productivity and customer service and at the same time reduce the time required for training new operators.

The Magellan 1000i presentation reader offers multi-interface support built-in to every scanner that allows new interfaces to be used just by a simple program parameter change and changing cables. Ideal for use in retail and office applications it offers standard support for the most popular linear and GS1 DataBar™ codes as well as optional PDF417 and Data Matrix label decoding in a single device, simplifying the point of service environment and reducing the total system cost. A Checkpoint Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) option provides additional value by integrating scanning and deactivation into one smooth motion.
